Development Regulations Re-Write

Thank you for your interest in the re-write of the Hays County Development Regulations.

Hays County is currently working on a comprehensive revision to it's Development Regulations. The County has tasked Freese and Nichols Inc., to review, analyze, and provide recommendations for updated Regulations that will impact development requirements in Hays County.

Part of the initial phase of the project will be hosting several community open house meetings throughout the County. On Tuesday, September 2nd, representatives from Freese and Nichols and Hays County staff will meet with the public to present initial information on the project, some key concepts and findings, and current timelines for completion of the project. Through this update, the County is focusing on key areas to be evaluated such as Water Availability, Water Quality and Erosion Control, Floodplain Management, Environmental Protection, and Transportation Infrastructure. Citizens are encouraged to attend the meetings to provide their feedback and any additional requests, recommendations, or questions related to these matters.
