Mission


The Judicial Services Department serves the Hays County Courts and the community by fostering positive relationships with those under Pretrial supervision. Judicial Services also provides objective investigative reports with recommendations to assist the Courts in making fair pretrial release and supervision decisions. Additionally, by utilizing evidence-based practices, technology and treatment resources, Judicial Services is helping to better protect the community. Ultimately, our goal is to assist criminal defendants during their legal process and to help them make positive life changes which may result in better outcomes.
