Karst Canyon Preserve

Welcome to Karst Canyon Preserve!

Opening Soon!

Karst Canyon Preserve is named for the unique landscape it protects. Karst landscapes are areas where the limestone bedrock is highly soluble, meaning it dissolves in water. This dissolving bedrock leads to the formation of karst features such as sinkholes, caves, and springs. In central Texas, sinkholes and caves are critical for groundwater recharge of the Trinity Aquifer. Karst Canyon Preserve exists, in part, to protect both the quantity and quality of water entering these recharge features.

Karst Canyon Preserve is also home to the Wimberley Bat Cave and a portion of Dry Cypress Creek.
