Hays County Parks and Natural Resources Department

Announcements /closures/alerts

Swimming at Jacob's Well Natural Area is canceled for the foreseeable future due to low water levels (Updated April 2025).

Introduction

The Hays County Parks Department operates several parks and natural areas throughout the county for the recreational use of our residents and visitors. We take pride in providing open spaces where people can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of our parklands. Please use the links at the bottom of this page to learn more.

We encourage all Hays County residents to experience our natural areas in a safe and responsible manner. Several of our parks are not able to allow pets (not even on leashes) so we ask that you respect the rules and keep these areas beautiful for all to enjoy, now and far into the future.
